Default New Expression Mandolin Orchestra (NEMO), 2nd Season concert

Just thought I'd share the concert we gave here in San Diego a couple of weeks ago. This is the New Expression Mandolin Orchestra (NEMO), directed by Chris Acquavella. This was our 2nd season concert with some very challenging pieces, but thanks to Chris, I think we ended up sounding pretty good.

    Hope you enjoy!

Great job, Gary...I still recall fondly my days in Normal Heights when we had at least 3 mandolin players within walking distance...

Yes, that was very funny to realize we lived in the epicenter of the San Diego mandolin community, without even knowing it. Hope you are doing well!!

    Hi Jim,

I think the names of the pieces are listed at the beginning of each tune. The first is Sinfonia in Sol, by Giovanni Domenico.

Thanks for posting this Gary. I had the great fortune and honor of being seated next to Gary in our performances, and I have learned a great deal from his knowledge and playing. Many thanks also to Chris Acquavella, for taking his time to lead this (at times) unruly bunch and whipped us into shape. We couldn't have done it without him .

All is well Gary...we moved up to Ferndale (Humboldt County) about 5 years ago and haven't looked back. One of these days I'll catch you at The Mandolin Symposium again...or, I'll come and visit the old neighborhood.
