Re: Kentucky KM-1000/1500 Varnish
I got a 1500 a couple of months ago when TMS first got the varnished models in. I previously owned a KM 1000 too. First, prefer the radius on the 1500 over the 1000's flat one-or the set up is just superb on this one. Personally I think the tone on this new mando is amazing. I cannot say whether the varnish contributes to that or not. I cannot think of enough superlatives for it. Fit and finish are excellent as well. And the maple is really well figured. I would post some photos, but am out of town and am not able to now. They both come with a really nice case too (canvas case cover on th 1500). Then there is the varnish smell...........
Thanks
Several mandolins of varying quality-any one of which deserves a better player than I am.......
