    Default Sumi Archtop Guitars?

It seems that mandolin players are virtually the only people in the USA who are knowledgeable about Eichi Sumi. Here in the USA it seems that his mandolins are generally held in high regard, but I was wondering if anybody has ever had a chance to play his guitars, especially his archtop L-5 style guitars. I have seen youtube videos of Japanese guys playing them and they seemed to sound good as much as you can tell from a youtube clip, but I'd be really interested in any information or opinions from people with personal knowledge. Honestly, I've never even heard of a single player outside of Japan who has one. Thanks!

I have L-5 type of archtop guitar made by Eichi Sumi.I got it in early 90's and in headstock is my artist name "Hal Peters" but H and P was mistyped in small letter not capital! It is nice guitar but it is pretty thick as I lived here in Finland (Scandinavia, near Russia border) and when I order that, I think he knows our hard climate, so he made it maeby too heavy. But I have no promblems which craking etc.so far.
I don't have good photos, but here it one:

    Hi,
i'm a french musician endorsed by Sumi guitars since 2006.
I perform exclusively on a guitar handmade by Eichii Sumi (from Nagano, Japan), which is customed to be played with a baritone tuning (BEADF#B) with two P-90 mics.
I highly recommend the Sumi archtop guitars, sounding great, very polyvalent, so beautiful, made with heart, and getting better and better over years...
I could try some other models by Sumi (acoustic guitars) which are also fabulous.
You can hear some tracks i've recorded with my Sumi guitar or look to some pictures and videos on this website :

Don't hesitate to ask me for farther informations !
