Das right duders,
True to me word...here is the thread on building a matching Uke, mando and guitar.
These are prototypes, working instruments for a band that does all original stuffs and could use an all original sound to be going down with the tunes. Assuming they meet with satisfaction, well then I, me duh Padma will commit to building some high end show pieces... Keep fingers crossed and keep the faith, but best give the rest away.
Ok...lets get started.
Wishbone construction. Waz dat you asks. Well iss were the neck and ribs are all one piece of wood. Unless of course me adds a racing stripe up the neck as in dis pic taken looking me shop window.
Me not gonna show pics of bending over a tail pipe...
cuz some of you would no doubt do the "him high on fumes" thing again. So here is a pic of the guitar before gluing it all together yup she be a double cut a way tear dropper eye popper.
The next two pics are of the mando, sitting on top of the uke sitting on top of the 6 stringer......................................
The wood is Douglas fir. Why fir? Well the stuff grows all over these mtns and so me doin my part in harvesting the planet. Ya me build with local woods, fir, birch, spruce, cedar, maple, oaks and walnut. Me use paduk for banding, head plates and fretboards because once upon a time me scored a pile of 5x6 in x 12 ft. cants for $4.50 a brd foot. That was 20 years ago and me still not used up half of it.
Regarding the design of these instruments...
Blah, blah, blah...see pics...
