I was trying to figure out these lyrics and I have most of them, but there a few I can't figure out, does anyone have them in full?

Yeah, and I need the chord changes to "Sweet Lizzy" and "The Vicksburg Stomp" while anyone's at it.

    E - / - - / - - / E7 - / A - / - - / E - / C# - / F# - / B - / E E7 A A7 / E - /

I think those're the chords, sound about right? The E E7 A A7 things all in one measure, just the normal little turnaround. Now to learn the melody!

Peter - thanks - I am going to be giving this entire Compton Long set a thorough breakdown and workout as soon as these holidays are over and I'll confirm. The melody itself sounds easy enough, but hey I thought that about "Pretty Red Lips" and that's a real pinkie workout. VS is a cool tune (as are they all). You could spend hours deciphering "Honky Tonk swing" by these guys (especially like the Batman Theme line tossed in on 12-03-2004.)

Yeah, it is pretty simple, I ran through it and learned it more or less, I'll probably go through and try to steal some more ideas from it but I got the gist of it.

I saw them play it in seattle a few weeks back and they said that the orginal performer used an octave tuned banjolin... David Long had an old gibson tuned in octaves, It's something I'd never thought of but if I still had my cheap mandolin I'd give it a try!

yeah I'm planning on it, sheraton would be cool, let me know the price, I could probably find some (paying) bodies to help occupy it! I don't care if I have a bed either. let me know!
