I have a beautiful Washburn Mandolin with the serial # 227227. I am hopeing for some help as to its birth date. It has a beautiful rich tone and stays in tune for days. I love to play it.

Okay, according to the appendix in the very fine book produced by our friend, Hubert "Keef" Pleijsier:

which is a must-have for any Washburn aficionado, your serial number should put your mandolin in the 1906-07 range. Now for the "fee" for providing this dating service for you: we simply ask that you post a few photos of your delightful mandolin.
