    Thanks! Bill, this wood is Spalted Flamed Maple, and the top braces will be a new pattern that I have developed.

    Interesting start there. Nicely figured timbers and your design is rather interesting too. I'd like to see your ideas on bracing.

    I would, too.
    I hope the spalted is solid. Spalted wood can be pretty weak if it's gone too far.

    That is going to be a very beautiful mandolin. It reminds me of a couple of tenor ukuleles I built 4 or 5 years ago. I think it is a great body shape.

    That is a really interesting instrument, Yaron. Looked at you Picasa pictures but no interior shots of bracing - any more info on what sort of pattern you used? looking forward to hearing the mandolin now.
