really good stuff.. I have the first transatlantic sessions 5 vol. 1... but see that the other volumes aren't out yet.

You know by chance when they're coming out?

Although vol. 1 does have a lot of really good songs on it... this is not one of them.

The Transatlantic Session series are just fantastic. I've eventually managed to get all 5 seasons. They are all fantastic and it's hard to choose a favorite. It's not just the stellar musichianship and the mixing of American and Celtic accoustic folk music. What makes them real special to me is that they give me a feeling of being invited to listen to an intimate session with some of my favorite musicians who really seems to enjoy themseves by bringing what they have to the table and inspire each other to really take it as far as they possibly can. For me this is some of the best examples of how magic music can be and put a smile on my face every time I watch one of the DVDs.

I also love that 'Annabelle Lee' . As well as her 6 string '5' (5 string '6' ?) ah, her banjo's really cool too !!
Is that a little 'Fiddle' overhang on the top & back of Jerry's lap thingy ?

Her banjo does sound great... I don't really know much about banjos.. but is she using the clawhammer style in that video?

I have all the Transatlantic recordings I've been able to find. I just love the concept and they have really created an amazing collection over the years. I have the greatest admiration for Jerry Douglas, the way he can step out of his "niche" and do what he finds interesting. It isn't always easy for a commercial artist to experiment with their branding the way he does.

Anybody recognize the lap steel he's playing on this video? I was wondering who the maker is.

Yep, I enjoyed Jerry's tasteful fills and great tone. I noticed the guitar he was playing had a red Cole Clark banner logo, as opposed to the blue one shown on their web page. I wonder if that was the VL2P semi-acoustic model?

I guess it could be that in my old age I have lost some of my hearing range but it seems that I can`t understand most of the words that some of the women singers are singing....I still listen to a lot of the older country tunes sung by women and don`t have any problem understanding them, is it just that bluegrass is too high for my ears? I never had a problem with Lynn Morris singing....Some of the bands have the music so loud that hearing the words is hard...Anyway I`ll just do what I can as far as hearing the words, they might as well hum on some of that stuff....I listened to some of Doyle Lawsons songs last night and I even had a hard time with the words when he was singing lead, not all songs but a few....

    It`s called "Progress"....

You're right, Tee. I guess I imagined that red logo. Weird.

Yes, it is. And Alison's harmonies with Sarah were stunningly beautiful.
