    Default Custom Truss Rod Cover

I just received a custom truss rod cover from Weber, and installed it tonight.

It's ebony with a MOP oval with my nickname on it. A subtle piece of bling, and matches both the headstock script and the fretboard dots.

Great quality, and good customer service from the folks at Weber. NFI, but I would buy another without hesitation.

Which mandolin did you put it on? It looks very nice too, by the way.

It's on my M21 A-Style. I thought it could use some personalization. I don't usually do that, but it's otherwise quite a plain looking instrument (no fancy inlay or showy binding).

It has a German spruce top, and the complexity of tone is remarkable. Notes just leap out of it. It's the mandolin I take with me everywhere. I usually don't name my instruments, but since this was a German top and has a distinct personality I named it "Friedrich".

I also had Bill James make a model appropriate tailpiece for it.

I'll take some pictures soon to update the registry. I got it used, and it's been played quite a bit.

Nice. That's not too ostentatious by any means. An F style by design is ostentatious but I bet those two touches are quite subtle on an elegant A style.
