    Default Allen tailpiece

I have been searching around looking for the best deal on a Allen AR2 gold tailpiece. There are some okay prices out there but all shipped from the U.S. i happened to find out by a fluke that thestringman.com (from London, Ont.) was closing out. 25-50% off all remaining merchandise. I gave them a call and he had one left. $75.00 + gst and shipping. It should arrive in 3-5 days via Canada Post. I am excited! Any suggestions on the installation? I am putting it on my J. Bovier F5 Dorado.
To play or not to play? Well that's a silly question.

The Allen tailpieces have about as standard a screw pattern as possible, so they usually go right on most mandolins without having to relocate any holes. It sould make for a nice upgrade.

I had someone do the work when the TP Change needed the holes plugged and re-drilled.
since the smaller to the larger footprint was where I went, its invisible.

The MR-2 tailpieces have a differnet screw hole pattern, but all the others have the same screw hole patterns.

I just got a gold TR-3 in the mail today. With the way the beveled screws line up, it makes the tailpiece favor the treble side a bit so it's not perfectly symmetrical. That makes the break angle less on the bass side and more on the treble side. Has anyone experienced this? So far play testing has been inconclusive. I'm not sure I want or need to go through the trouble of having the holes filled and re-drilled but it does bother the OCD side of me.
