    Default A 1962 F model Gibson?????? NOT!

I still love to turn to ebay for my gaps in entertainment from cable TV. Tonight I got a good laugh on this one:

$1500 for a mid 70's Gibson A-12 that has been refinished and altered? I don't think so!

I agree with F5Loar, better than most of what's on TV. Thanks.

I sure don't see many of either the 70's A5 round hole or the A12 F hole but the A12 was actually cheaper than the round hole.
In 1974 including the cases the A12 was priced at $640 and the A5 $800 while the more master like models were only slightly higher with the F12 at $1000 and the big top of the line F5 at $1200. I see more of the F5s from that era than any other model. The reason being they made more F5s than the other models during the 70's decade. I show about 286 of the A5 made against 472 of the A12 model and only 189 of the F12 model against a whooping 864 of the F5 model.

well it's back with some alterations to the description. He now admits it is a 70's F model with an altered fingerboard that was on there when he got it but he still fails to acknowledge it being the A12 model. I guess he stands fast that no F model would have an "A" in it's model number. Came down $50 too which I don't think will make much difference on it. No mention of a refinish either.
