Default Brian Dean #26 piccolo mandolin played by Mike Marshall

    Hi folks,

It has been years since I was active here, but I still play my mandolins.

Guess who I ran into at a nearby luthier's shop in Oakland/Emeryville, CA?

I couldn't resist asking him to allow me to shoot a short clip of him playing my mandolin !

    Cheers.

You can barely see it through his hands!

I think his index finger is wider than the 1st fret.

That must have been a shock after all the 'cello playing he's been doing!

Bach Noodling!! I find it harder to play the shorter scale instruments than a mandola. My fingers want to go to the wrong fret. Mike does quite fine, of course.

Cool stuff. I find piccolos brutal. I would have kept my Leland but I just couldn't cope.

I tend to agree as much as I love this instrument. One thing that is remarkable is how loud it is!
