    Default Dawg finally gets credit!

I've been a fan of NPR's Car Talk for many years and have long known that their theme song is Dawggy Mountain Breakdown by Dave Grisman.
At the end of each show, they give a long list of credits (some real and some humorous eg sexual harassment consultant Pat McCann). A couple of shows back, for the first time, I heard them credit "our theme song by Dave "Dawg" Grisman".
Maybe this will induce a few NPR listeners to check out some bluegrass.

Oh yes, no mistaking that tune, from Dawg Grass/Dawg Jazz, 1984; features Rice, Anger, Wasserman, Mike and David in perfect harmony, along with the now-departed Earl. Whattatune.

Very nice! Of course, dedicated fans of the show know that Click and Clack are bluegrass lovers and do some picking themselves. Now, to make this a real true credit they have to put a pun in there, to join the likes of statistician Marge Innovera, Russian chauffeur Pikop Andropov, customer care representative Haywood Jabuzoff, optometric firm C.F. Eye Care, and law firm Dewey, Cheetham and Howe.

My favorite 'Tappet Bro's' caller: "I have a 72 Beetle & I'm having trouble with the heater" (uncontrollable laughter followed up with) " you have a 72 Beetle, you have no heater !"

    Thanks

Mike, I'll admit to having inside information on this one.

I did not know the tune was by David Grisman, but have always thought 'man whoever played the mando part on that tune was amazing... ' Glad to know that even when I don't recognize the tune, I at least know greatness when I hear it
