Default eBay......Your opinion on this MT2V

I have been lurking in the background for years, and I continue to learn from all you folks who contribute to the forum.
There is a Collings MT2V on eBay, #320743209352.....I do not know how to do a link, yet...............circa 2005 for $3900. This seems to be a "for sale" item, with no bidding.
If anyone could take a look at it and tell me what you think, I would certainly appreciate your thoughts.

    Thanking you in advance......

I've seen it too, it's not moving simply because having a buy it now at a higher price never works. You need to at least do an auction and start lower to create excitement or do the make an offer thing. Either that seller doesn't know about the Cafe or doesn't know how to attract buyers or just doesn't want to sell. Bottom line he's a little high on price. If it had Waverlys tuners he'd be closer but he doesn't, so unles he gets it to $3500 it'll continue to sit on EBay as the best mandolin Collings ever made with no buyer.

The one I have is very recent, December of 11' and it has Waverlys ($500 upgrade) plus the pickguard. If you're hot for an MT2V just be patient and watch the classifieds, they do come up. If that eBay one was $3,500 - $3,600 that would be fair. I'm basing this on what we've seen them bring historically. As far as these instruments go they're one of the best values out there. I've owned two MF5 Varnish Deluxe and the MT2V is right there in every way for a fraction of the price, an absolutely killer mandolin for a great value. Just be patient, unless of course you're the seller and are on a fishing expedition

If you were seriously interested, make an offer to the seller away from eBay. You'll find him here. He'd be saving a final value eBay fee of $390, so should be open to accepting a a more realistic price.
