I guess they did not realize it was plywood before they started...

Hmmmm...would that finish be called a "grinderburst"?![]()
Mike
Those who think they should think, like they think others think they should think, need to think out their thinking, I think.
Yummmmm...All the heavy build up of
tone killing paint and lacquer from the factory was stripped off and the entire piece
refinished by finger tip application with multiple light coats of Tongue Oil.![]()

Who knows, maybe he really did lick the burst onto that thing. Looks like a possibility.
Gunga......Gunga.....Gu-Lunga
I'm glad it was refinished in the USA, where we know how to finish things off right.
There's nothing wrong with that finish that a can of black Krylon can't fix.

Yes, Krylon and Bondo!! This could be the new Cafe luthier project --- maybe pass this mandolin around to us amateur reptile dentists.

Looks like this is how it started out in life.
Current seller says:
It has a smooth, mellow tone with great resonance and sustain almost
like an old Gibson A style
Nice to know that about a Sojing (le bells, jingle bells....)

Music washes away from the soul the dust of every day life.

Krylon and bondo? Perhaps C4 instead?
"Put your hands to the wood
Touch the music put there by the summer sun and wind
The rhythms of the rain, locked within the rings
And let your fingers find The Music in the Wood."
Joe Grant and Al Parrish (chorus from The Music in the Wood)
The only good thing I can say is to give thanks that it's "one of a kind" and we won't have to see any more of them!
Oh my.....
I wonder if the same guy is responsible for the fine paving job this masterpiece is displayed on.
Clicked on the Sojing link and was referred to other fine Sojing products, including a "silent electric guitar." Whatta concept.
