This mando is sitting at my local music shop, the guy says for more than 3 years, I cant find an actual model number on it. I can get it for less than 300. It has a scooped fret extension, and some nice abalone inlays on it as well. If anyone has this mando and can share some opinions I would be grateful.

That would be the M-A1. 3 years sounds about right. If it is setup well, it is not a bad mandolin. The mahogany gives it a little different tone. You are getting up there close to The Loar LM-220 and quite a few Kentucky's when you hit the $300 mark. If you have a chance try to play an LM-220 or Kentucky and see if you have a preference.

It sounds like a fair - at least not unreasonable - price. If it plays well, is in good condition, and you like it, then go ahead and get it. It probably won't be your last mandolin anyway. Depending on where you live, a mandolin that hangs on the wall for three years may not be unusual. In my neck of the woods there aren't many mandoin players and the instruments don't move quickly. It doesn't mean they're bad, but just not popular.
