    Default Blohm Handel style buttons

I love these tuner buttons, but how would you get the old ones off? And what is the best way to secure the new buttons?

The Blohm buttons are great. Mike usually states which tuners each set is made for. In the add you cited, those are made to fit Waverly F-style tuning machines and they are direct screw on replacements. Very easy.

For other buttons such as Schaller’s, Stewmac posts instructions to remove and install replacement buttons which involves heating the button posts (say with a soldering iron), slipping them off and gluing the replacements on with medium acting epoxy. Others may have other ways of reinstalling the buttons such as heating them but that takes more experience.

Here's a set of Blohm Waverly buttons on an F4.

Gail, I might as well be the first to say that that is a stunning peghead.

Well, I think that they're beautiful pegs, but I'm not enough of a dandy to spring for $250 to gussy up my peghead. They wouldn't be a match to my Ellis anyway. Those of you who do buy 'em, enjoy 'em!

I have an F4 ordered through Gail. I love that headstock with the flower in the vase. That headstock is similar to what we have talked about for mine. I am not sure how I feel about the Blohm Handel style buttons, however, for that headstock. For my taste, it is a bit too busy and in some ways takes away the great inlay work in the headstock.

How's this for a compliment: I looked at Gail's flowerpot inlay and completely forgot to check out the tuner buttons......

    Fretbear,
I was so excited by the look of the inlay work that I did not focus on the buttons until the second look. I was so excited by the inlay work that I emailed Gail to ask if that was what she intended for mine.

really nice Gail...black headed screws on the truss cover would make 'em all but disappear from the face which i'm thinkin might look hot with such pretty work believe Gilchrist blacks-out all of his standard F5's that way, since he uses the shiny stock plastic/original style truss covers.
