Welcome to Eugene. #Possible suggestions are the Old Time Fiddlers Association for our region (they have a monthly jam, usually in Eugene/Springfield area), and jams at Sam Bond's Garage. #They used to have an old time jam early Saturday evenings and an Irish jam on Sunday afternoon. #Don't know what they are doing there now but stop by and ask them. #You might also try asking at the Shedd and at the Buy and Sell Center. #If you'd like to read music and play classical, let me know. #I'd have other suggestions for that. #Good luck.

    Hi Travis,
You could try here. I'm not a member but it looks like they've got a current web page.

    best, bennyb

Is anyone interested in starting an old time group around the area? Or just an informal gathering. I have a really great community practice space so if anyone is interested...

    Thanks,
    Travis

Well I checked at Sam Bonds today and no more old time jam on Saturday. I am really interested in starting one, and am curious if there are others out there that are interested. I have access to a community space at the corner of Almaden and West Broadway (near Monroe park...) if people are interested...

    Hi Travis and any others,

Would like to explore some jamming possibilities especially where jam etiquette is understood and upheld. Levels of playing don't matter as much. I want to work on expanding my fiddle tune repertoire on the mandolin. Also play guitar.

    Hi there!

I am a real newbie and don't know if I have the nerve to play where anyone can hear me... but I would *love* to find a group who wouldn't mind if I come sit in, listen and watch (and maybe pluck along unobtrusively in the background if it's not obnoxious).

...and I know zero about jam etiquette but would love to learn!
