    Dahlonega, a picturesque town in the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains, is the place to be during the weekend of April 21-22, 2012. Scheduled for that weekend is the 16th annual Bear on the Square Mountain Festival, a highly entertaining and lively weekend of music and art held in and around the town's Historic Public Square.

    For Asheville:

    The Bywater. Monday night at 9.
    Jack of Hearts. Wednesday at 9.
    Jack of the Wood. Thursday at 9.

    There is a Jam in Marietta, Georgia every Tuesday. Its held at The Australian Bakery Cafe, although its usually on the sidewalk out front, from 6-10pm with a good crowd showing every week.

    You don't mention what kind of music you're looking for but there's also an Irish session followed by an open mike every Tuesday at White Horse Black Mountain, just a few miles east of Asheville in Black Mountain. (If you go to Black Mountain drop in to Acoustic Corner and Song of the Wood too; all three are literally within steps of each other.)
