I'm very sad to hear that news. Doug Dillard was one of my very first banjo 'heroes',& remains one of my favourite pickers to this day,

I still watch Doug Dillard on Andy Griffith reruns - what a player! Sad news about Earl Scruggs today too. Both of them influenced music so much.

I did a quick search on the I'net yesterday & found an article relating to DD. Apparently he was amaking something of a recovery.His illness was due to a hole in one of his lungs,which collapsed. 'Bluegrass Today' reports that he's recovering back at home,but still has a tube in his lung. His wife,Vikki says that he's healing well - let's all hope so,
