Default Chet Atkins and Doc Watson CD: Reflections

I just ran across this CD in the used bin at my local music retailer:

    http://www.amazon.com/Reflections-Ch...2719836&sr=8-1

I had no idea this recording existed. It was recorded in '79, the day following their first meeting/jam session. It includes some bluegrass standards such as Old Joe Clark. No mandolin, but probably of interest to many members. I will post a follow up after listening.

Appears that it was re-released in 2008:

Does anyone have more info on Doc/Chet collaborations?

There are few flatpicking guitar players I feel compelled to say anything about, and fewer I can stand to listen to for more than a song or two. Doc, I can listen to all day. Good stuff. Thanks for posting. Reminds me of why I got into some of this music in the first place.

I bought this record when it came out, it's still a wonderful recording after all these years.

Got to get my turntable fixed! Too much great vinyl sitting there! "Me and Chet made a record" I only saw Chet live once, but Doc came through Austin about 4 or 5 times. Great each and every time.

Finished my first listen through on the commute today. It's wonderful, but how could it be otherwise with those two giants of guitar together? Every track contains gems of technique, style, and musicality. Highly recommended!!

I've still got this on vinyl. I think one of my brothers gave it to me as a Birthday or Xmas present. The cover of the album is different, it's grey. The contents I'm sure are the same.

    It's a gem.
