That's something that almost every Folk singer/songwriter in the UK did during the Folk boom of the '60's-70's. You put your lyrics etc.in an envelope & posted it to yourself by 'registered' mail.The contents were written on the mail receipt for the envelope & were meant to 'register' the ownership of the lyrics by the 'poster'. Whether it would have worked or not,who knows.I don't think any plagierism occured in order for it to be contested in court,
