    Default EQing Out Pick Click...

    K&K Pickup > UltraSound DI Plus > Roland KC-60

I'm getting a good clean signal (i.e. not muddy) with this setup, but I'm hearing a good deal of pick click too. To be specific, the pick hitting the strings. My mando has no extension. Is there a way to reduce the click through EQ?

The DI Plus has Bass (150hz) & Treble (5khz) controls and a notch filter (100hz - 350hz). There is also a shape switch that scoops the mids. Would any of these be applicable to reducing the pick click?

In a group setting this probably would get lost in the shuffle. In this case I'll be performing solo at Church. The click ends up being distracting more than anything.

I little experimenting over my lunch break proved helpful. I ended up applying some cuts to the Bass (11 o'clock) and Treble (9 o'clock) that warmed up the tone a bit. Not sure if it's cutting the pick click or covering it up. Either way it's sounding much better. With everything at 12 o'clock (flat) the tone was a little on the brittle side and the pick clicks really stuck out. It sounded like a metronome.

Anyhow, I'm hoping I'm set. Now I just need to practice my pieces...off to the woodshed for the weekend.
