    Congratulations! That was an amazing journey -- thanks for sharing. That is a great looking instrument. Sure be interested in how it sounds. To me the nut looks wider than you planned? But maybe it is just the perspective in the photo?

    The nut is 36mm wide... (but on the photo, the body widness=the head lenght so...)...
    As soon as I succeed in playing a tune, I will share a video (or I'll ask a good player to play it...).

    Sounds great to me -- it is particularly clean with no buzz which is always bothersome on a mandocello. I like it and nothing wrong with your playing either. What is that tune -- I should know it but I don't.

    I thought the tune was Islay Rant, but it wasn't ! In fact, it's Spootiskerry, a Shetland 's reel I learnt from Nigel Gatherer website.
