    I used to store whatever pick I'd been using by slipping it under my mandolin's strings somewhere along the fretboard. Since I lost that habit, my strings are lasting much longer. I guess the oils from my fingers on the pick were hastening the corrosion of the strings.

    Anyway, maybe that will work for someone else.

    I have found that if I leave it laying on the towel that I use to wipe down my strings, the case lid will hold it right in place. My case is a FQMS-Supercase style thing, YMMV
