2013 Strawberry Fall Music Festival cancelled

We just received the official word from Tuolumne County Community Resources Agency and the Board of Supervisors County of Tuolumne:
“Due to the ongoing State of Emergency and the potential adverse effects of the wildfire on public health, safety and welfare, the County of Tuolumne cannot allow the Strawberry Music Festival to occur at the site as originally permitted on the dates of August 29 through September 2, 2013.”

Hopefully we will have more information early next week and will update our website and Facebook accordingly.

Camp Mather, the Festival's home since 1983, is still standing as of 2:30PM 8/23:

We have just received the following information from a briefing by the fire command.

Areas that they can confirm have been saved and are currently still standing:

Camp Mather
Evergreen Lodge
Camp Tawonga
San Jose Camp

One confirmed building destroyed was a modular early intake building.

150 telephone poles destroyed

Some roadways still so hot that tires melting on pavement.

Big concern at this time is the 2 main transmission electrical lines that feed Kennedy Meadows. They are being watched.

The fire is still traveling at an "unprecedented rate".
