Default 1924 A2 Gibson pickguard replacement?

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement pickguard for a 1924 A2 Gibson mandolin? I bought one for which the pickguard is missing. My friend has a similar model, the pickguard mounts by means of one pin in the neck, and a clamp on the side.

    I found this:

but there are no photos of the A-style model there.

    Thanks.

The Cumberland A guard (odd that he doesn't have a photo) is quite close to the old Gibson A. Do you (I hope) have the original clamp? There are work-arounds, but the originals are best. The edge bracket from Cumberland involves a screw into the edge of the mandolin's body that many find inappropriate.

Here's what you should use, if at all possible:

Here's what you can do by redeploying a bracket from a violin chinrest:

This is an actual original Gibson guard clamp, a predecessor to the first one, above.

You might want to contact Darryl Wolfe here on the Café, he makes really nice vintage guards.
