    Default buttons on the forum

    Scott,
An old mans request here.... my eyes are not what they used to be and when I'm on my laptop I have to get the screen tilted just so in order to distinguish between threads I've read and those I haven't.

Could you modify the button for read threads to be a higher contrast from that of the the ones that have new messages unread? My suggestion would be a black or dark grey button that would contract better than the light grey currently in use.

Other ole ##### would likely appreciate it as well.
    Regards,

Use the New Posts button and then cycle through them then use the Mark All Forums Read in Forum Actions when you leave. This way you'll never miss a new post (unless you want to). The feature you're asking for may be hard coded into the software and the theme this version of the software uses. I don't know the exact answer as I don't deal with any of the coding Scott and Dan do.

The links in threads that are read or have been viewed turn from bold to not bold. You're looking at titles when you see those--much more obvious and useful. Buttons are... just buttons. Might try increasing your resolution. On Macintosh, Command + should increase size, Command - decreases. This is my nice way of saying it probably ain't changing.

Here are some higher contrast buttons...
    Name: Old example 1.png
Views: 72
Size: 2.3 KBName: Old example 2.png
Views: 70
Size: 1.7 KB

And understand, I'm not telling you what you need to do. Just expressing my difficluty on my laptop reading.. now on my desktop ...not an issue at all... oh and yeah the bold doesn't show up well for the new threads on the laptop either. I'd curse the laptop but my employer might not be to happy if I dist'd their product!

If you think better of it, that's fine... I will get along fine either way.

If that's a Windows machine make sure you have the right drivers for the video and not the generic drivers Windows loads. I have problems with my eyes, I look at this on my laptop and my desktop daily with no issues.

Its Linux based running Chrome... so I'm not sure what the impact of the rendering is. I haven't noticed any issues with my other graphics based utilities on that machine. But my desktop is is Windows 7 and it is fine. Think it is just the weakness of the display on the laptop.

Linux running Chrome isn't really mainstream yet so I think you're gonna have to gut this one out.

Kip, this is the main (like 95% of the time) way I review posts (New Posts/Mark Forums Read). On rare occasions I subscribe to a thread that I feel the need to watch over a lengthier period.
