    Default Grommets in UK

    Hi,

Anybody sourced any rubber grommets over the web in the UK? I seem to see what I want in terms of shape, but sizing is not obvious?

Any sources you have used would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Maplins.

They come in various sizes (presumably for mandolin, mandola, mandocello!) You'll probably need the "0603" "QT92A"s.

Personally, I've never bought from them on line. Down in this part of the UK where we're not fighting for independence, Maplins have shops! Unfortunately, if you order a single packet of 10, delivery will cost you more than the grommets themselves. If you order 170 of the little devils postage would be free. S'pose it depends how many you're intending to loose.

    Happy shopping
    Ray

You should find them anywhere that stocks electrical components (car spares shops/electrical repair shops/larger hardware dealers) although the smaller ones you need will probably be more difficult to source. You could even try your local garage.

My wife used to work with a lady from Edinburgh,Scotland. She came home one evening & told me that Katherine, (for such was the lady's name),had been telling her about the statue of Gromit that stood in the Castle there - she did of course mean the statue of William Wallace. It was hours before i could stop laughing !.

Nice one Ray - i'd not heard that before. My wife came up with another howler some years back, but i can't remember what it was. It's nice living with somebody who's 'wordily challenged',you never know when another one's coming up,
