Post Lady Gaga for the mandolin?

I've been playing and singing the Richard Thompson version of Britney Spear's "Oops I Did It Again" for a few months now at gigs and it always gets a nice response, so I am looking at the Lady Gaga catalog for a similar treatment. The only one I found that might work is "You and I". I'll have to change the lyrics to sing it from a male perspective, but it has a nice rhythm for a string band and a solo section that is a good excuse to play some fast notes. Anyone else have any other suggestions from her catalog?

I think the trick here is to pick a song that is going to make folks smile when they see/hear a 55 year old guy who bears some resemblance to Santa Claus singing it.

You picked the right one! 'You & I', one of Lady Gaga's more recent hits, would work well and be very well received. Plus, in my opinion, it's a fine song, with excellent lyrics. Besides, Gaga pays homage to Neil Young in this song, so that's a big plus too .
This one will bring the house down.
I think what you're doing here is really cool...Keep us posted.

Another one that would get a huge response is 'Bad Romance'. If you have a good rhythm section, this one might be the ticket...A good drummer and bass player would make this quite a number! Oh, there's a couple lines in French too...Always a plus. Of course, if you do this one, you will need to learn that claw dance.

By the way, this is another outstanding song in my opinion. As you can tell, I think this young lady has some serious chops. (Notice: Video rated PG-13)

In my rock band we do Poker Face and I got a feeling by the Black Eyed Peas. Haven't tried this sort of thing in my picking group, but I like the idea.

One of my favorite Gaga songs has a title I cannot put on this forum well I could put a part of it "Stuck on ******* You". The tune has it's roots firmly planted in Blues and other than the one offensive word (which could be changed) it is a great song. I won't say that I love The Ga but she does have a certain quality and talent beyond her persona that most of her Little Monsters will never appreciate. I will post the link and hopefully Scott or one of the Mods don't punch my ticket but it is on you tube under her account so youtube censors must think it suitable for viewing.

    Ed and P.D. -
Good suggestions. I found a few versions of Bad Romance done string band style. This one (no mandolin content) is most similar in spirit to what I was thinking about doing with You and I:

P.D. s suggestion intrigues me. I think I'll come back to that one after working up You and I with my 2 musical partne
