Man, I've been enjoying this site so much! Just been listening to some Jack Tottle stuff: that Don Stover album mentioned earlier in the thread and also Tasty Licks, with the young Bela Fleck. Can anyone tell me who is singing on that album? I had never heard Jack T. picking before yesterday and am so happy to be hearing it now! SOOO much good stuff on here...like Herschel Sizemore's "Bounce Away." Just great.

Scroll partway down the Friends of Old Time Music site, and next to the Kentucky Ramblers' album you'll see "My Blog List". A terrific one there is "Bill's Blog" (http://marines12.blogspot.com/). "Allen's Archive" (http://allensarchiveofearlyoldcountr....blogspot.com/) is also great.

I know about Tasty Licks (Rounder), Tasty Licks' Anchored to the Shore (Rounder), Don Stover's Don Stover & the White Oak Mtn. Boys (Rounder), Tottle's Back Road Mandolin (Rounder), and his Copper Creek CD, The Bluegrass Sound. To my knowledge, only that last recording has been released on CD--and it has a 4-song "Tasty Licks Reunion". Maybe someone else can chime in if there are other recordings.

Hey guys, quick question: How do I get the mp3 onto an audio CD to listen to in the car? I have been loving listening to these guys via the computer, speakers etc but I want em in my car too!

I just import the album folder into itunes and then burn a cd from that. I posted a more in depth "how to" on the Taterbug Mando Facebook page, which I think you are on, also.

While Jack sings some lead on the Tasty Licks album, that's Pat Enright (now of The Nashville Bluegrass Band) singing lead on Anchored to the Shore. GREAT album!

Thanks, Bogle. So we got one person saying Jack sings lead on the album and one saying that Pat Enright sings most of the songs.......Bogle since you are the expert on your own opinion I'll have to go with you I guess.

I imagine Bogle did what I did, namely, compare the acoustic evidence. Pat Enright is of course the featured lead singer with Nashville Bluegrass Band and has a distinct voice, timbre and accent (which I really like), Jack Tottle has completely different voice, timbre and accent. There's plenty of both of them to listen to (pre-Enright Tasty Licks, NBB) and I think you will find that Bogle has more than opinion to support his post.

That's a funky looking little acoustic bass in that poster, and looks like Jack is still rocking his F-4 conversion. Jack's lead singing is well-documented on his "Backroad Mandolin" album.

I believe that's a "ukelele bass". There were maybe 5 or 6 in use or for sale at Wintergrass last weekend. They are inexpensive (the ones I saw were by Kala), sound amazingly good (with a decent bass amp), and they are very portable!

Tuttle -Tottle --well I'll be! I did have them confused. I just assumed that they were the same. So many people that you associate with the East Coast end up out West that I just assumed that they were one in the same. Anyway, Jack Tottle wrote a good book and Jack Tuttles daughter is a mighty fine musician.

I understand swampstomper. I was just joking around a bit and was not being too serious about it. I actually haven't listened to Enright or Tottle enough to tell the difference but will learn to. Thanks.
