Just to inform you that we organise a master-class in la Cité de la Musique de Marseille on November 28/29/30, with Patrick Vaillant.

"Le travail proposé embrassera les dimensions mélodiques, harmoniques et rythmiques de la mandoline et s’intéressera plus particulièrement aux différents niveaux de combinaison de ces dimensions, techniquement et musicalement. On procèdera par aller-retour entre le jeu individuel et le jeu collectif (duo, quatuor, ensemble) sur la base de morceaux, exercices et éléments musicaux provenant de sources diverses, populaires ou savantes. On s’exercera à l’improvisation, notamment dans un cadre modal."

I tried to translate :
The proposed work will include the melodic, harmonious and rhythmic dimensions of the mandolin and with a special interest in the various levels of combination of these dimensions, technically and musically.
With both individual play and group play (duet, quartet, etc) with pieces, exercises ans musical element from classical or popular sources.
The practise will aslo include improvisation, in particular in the modal frame.
