    Default looking for banjo player

Not a joke! We are a bluegrass band in Victoria, British Columbia who are banjo-less and don't want to be. Nobody local available on a permanent basis. PM me if interested.

I'm a bit reluctant to just drop into Banjo Hangout, make a post and then not contribute. I really don't have time for another forum. But if any members here are also BH members, please feel free to cut and paste or direct folks to my post.

I posted a new thread on the Banjo Hangout, but as they don't have any specific place to post requests for bands / artists etc.,i placed it in the section re."Scruggs style playing". However, the hyperlink to this web page appears not to be active - but it is on there for anybody to ''copy & paste'' if they wish to,

I think you'd be surprised at how many musicians are also alcoholics...

I could make a joke here about the sound of a banjo driving one to drink, but I won't.

How true on both counts! My take was that if the musician were at AA and sobering up, he'd realize he should also stop playing the banjo! Maybe there should be 12-step BA programs also!

Thanks for the cautionary advice but we're still looking for one. What can I say? I like to live dangerously.

I once had someone try to involuntarily submit me to a six shot , errrr , I mean six step program while playing my banjo ....... I just played louder until he succumbed . I have since been completely rehabilitated of all banjo related syndromes .
