    Default Loose Ivoroid Binding

I have a loose ivoroid binding on my guitar . Can anyone advise me as to what kind of glue I should use to reattach this to the ebony fingerboard?

It depends a lot on the age of the guitar. I recently asked the same question about loose fingerboard bindings on an 1890s Washburn guitar. The response was overwhelmingly that I should use hot hide glue. For a more recent guitar, I would probably be comfortable with Duco.

    I use CA (super glue).
I see no reason to ever use hot hide glue to attach celluloid. I believe that acetone, Duco or something similar was used from the beginning of celluloid bindings in the late-1800's. Hide glue is appropriate for wood or elephant ivory binding.

Thanks, Frank, for suggesting the better alternative to acetone and cyanoacrylate glues: aliphatic.
