Question Unnamed Mandolin with a Model Number MD-TS15 and Made in Korea

I bought this at Goodwill....long story.... but when I played it I was amazed at the sound and resonance. The action is high, but again, the sound is beautiful. It is an A shaped mandolin, in a cardboard hard case. It came with a late 60's Mel Bay workbook.... Anybody have any ideas? The model number and "made in Korea" tags are gold stick labels, virtually new.

I'm going to guess that it was one of the generic mandolins imported from Korea under dozens of brand names and in some cases with no brand name. Post a picture, it's probably a known model.

Occasionally a really nice instrument came off those Asian workbenches. They don't have to be outrageously loud to be pleasant to play and hear. I have an Epiphone BG-440 (two-point modeled after Jethro Burns' two-pointer) that sounds very nice. I'd say just be happy with it. The next one off that line might not sound as nice. Other explanations may be offered.

These were generic mandolins imported under dozens of brand names and in this case (as in others) with no brand name at all. If you enjoy it that's all that matters. They are available weekly on eBay.
