    Default 1977 f5 # 2

This is the second instrument I made - used old violin stock and spliced it to be a bit wider. Fortunately I kept this one and it matures as it ages. My first from 1976 is currently be played by Matt Sircely of Port Angles WA. Check him out as he is exceptionally talented.

Hey Tim, That's a fine looker!!! Did you use the Siminoff book as a guide?

Roger lived in Morristown NJ about an hour from my place in the Lehigh Valley Pa and I became an early subscriber to his research. I supplied the woods that came from a violin maker who worked for Wurlitzer in Philly for 30 years. Got to see him put it on his original gibson carving machine and then attempted to follow his tap tuning methodology (still don't get it). Here is Matt with my # 1 which magically and likely by chance came out to be a fine sounding instrument even with the imperfections in detailing. Thanks
