    Default Strum Patterns?

Any tips or tricks to strum patterns? I play clawhammer banjo and struggle to strum out tunes on a mando, its frustrating.

Keep your wrist flexible. The motion I recommend is like shaking water from your hand or shaking out a match. This is a motion that is completely different from frailing a banjo.

A couple of simple rhythms would be:

    4/4 or 2/4 down - up - DOWN - up

3/4 pick the 4th string followed by 2 down strums
    Pick - down - down or Pick -down/up - down/up

That's the kind of advice I need, thank you.
