is there one?
That's what multi tasking does for you. lol.
They refer to that as a suitcase. Louis Vuitton makes a nice one.
While we're at it, how about a case that holds an F5, a six-pack, a quart bottle (square shape) of name-brand tequila and a dozen eggs in case my wife calls me on the way home?
Seriously, though, you might be best to look at Pelican cases, makers of super-heavy-duty plastic cases in a selection of sizes and shapes, with cut-away foam inserts designed to allow you to create any range of protective shapes you require.
And, since you are in Orkney (I love Orkney, and I wrote a book about Shetland), another great advantage of Pelicans is they are extremely weatherproof. I used to use a selection of them to transport very delicate and horrendously expensive camera and photographic lighting gear. I could put them on any airline in Asia and be confident that not even the worst of baggage handlers could pose any threat to my gear. Nor would anything inside the bags suffer even if they were left out in a monsoon.

I've wondered if anyone uses Pelican cases for touring. Here's a encouraging testimonial from the Pelican site (Although I recommend storing your Loar and C-4 seperately. I'm just conservative that way.)
"At this time the helicopter had been destroyed by two maverick missiles. The only thing that was salvageable was the Pelican case. The case was completely intact with minor burns and one broken latch. The contents of the case all functioned properly, nothing was damaged. The case contained#6 satellite phones, an electronic radio system, a highly sensitive digital camera and a block of C-4 explosive. We used the case and equipment throughout our stay in Iraq, which lasted a few months. Thank you for a fine product. Your product is a definite asset in the fight for freedom. As you're on this side of the pond, why don't you ask Keith Calton - http://www.caltoncases.co.uk/custom.html - I've always found him very obliging and the UK (original) cases are nowhere near as expensive as their US cousins.
Actually, this case from Pelican should hold a mandolin and laptop quite nicely:

Bobelock rectangular case should take one in the outside pocket easy enough.
