Is that Mark O'Conner on guitar? I see he's playing a oval-holer.
Look up (to see whats comin down)
Looks like Mark on the guitar, and Mike Marshall on the mandocello!
The bass fiddle player 'resembles' Tim O'Brien a little, even though I bet it isn't him.

Ah, I remember it well. Great show. Mike Marshall, Rob Wasserman, Dawg, and Mark O'Connor -- what a line-up.

Yeah Mark even has that same goofy hat on that he wore on Austin City Limits...though I was but a wee lad at that time, 3 to be exact!
"....he's an old hippie....".. -You guys have excellent "recall" - would rival Howard Cosell... hee hee...![]()
Here's a coupla ex(?)-hippies
is it me, or does the young mike marshal look just like mike gordon from phish? anyway, killer lineup. the quintet has always been a who's who of acoustic music.

I just revisited the Austin City Limits show from '81 with this exact lineup, and they are smoking...
O'Connor on guitar is especially interesting to watch...
I forgot what a monster he was on guitar (and everything else)...
Was Mark still playing the white fiddle on this leg? I remember the first tour they wore white suits.... still had the hat.. Dawg intro'd Wasserman with something like "you know the rest of the guys and your goin' to be hearin' fromThis Guy alot...

Mark is KILLER on guitar. I love his triplet solo on "Slopes" on the "Strength In Numbers" album. Plus, the trio of him, Sam Bush, and Byron Berline when he played mostly guitar but also mando and fiddle. They all swapped around on that one. I don't recall the name of the album, it was a copy that I have.
If F-model mandolins have F-holes then why don't A-model mandolins have A-holes???
Hey Spruce, don't we all look stoned? Well, we do if we went through our wild years!
