scooping fretboard extension
What tooling do you use to scoop the end of a fretboard extension? Router? Hand filing? This one is bound.
Any special considerations to avoid damage, especially to the binding? thanks,

I just did one the other day, also using the same general method as described directly above. The only difference is that I did not use a gouge or chisels, but filed/sanded the material away. I'll get some photos. The result was absolutely fine. Took about 90 minutes in total. No problem with the binding.

I have used a combination of Dremel and a small sandingblock with great results. I did the radius and removed most of the wood with the Dremel, and sanded the new flat with the block.
