Mike,
As a Silverangel owner, I can tell you that you have good reason to be excited. Ken builds wonderful sounding and playing mandolins.

Enjoy it. Post tome of your photos when it comes.

My Silverangel ("Myrtle") arrived Monday. It has a one piece fir top and a one piece myrtle back. I will admit to being skeptical of the choice of wood, but after playing it a whole lot for 3 days, I can only say the it is the best sounding mandolin I have played. I will confess that I have played less than 10 mandolins, but I have played Collings (MT) Weber (Yellowstone) Bulldogs, Kentucky's (KM 1000), etc........ Individual notes are clear and clean and the E string rings out well with no "shrillness" experienced with some of the other mandolins I have played. All notes remain clear and clean with a pleasant tone at the 12th fret as well. I have only been playing chop chords about 6 weeks, but again "Myrtle" sounds better than the others I have played those on too (only a few pac rims). Playability is excellent with slightly oversized frets and a V neck that fits my left hand well. I couldn't be more pleased. I have no way of posting any clips, so you'll just have to take my word for it.-LOL!![]()
Thanks, Mike

Mike,
Congrats, and glad you like it. Ken makes a killer mandolin. I have one of his Econo A styles, and it is my best sounding mando. It also has a very cool, vintage vibe going on, and looks a touch "distressed". I like the oversized frets, and no finish on the neck. The tailpiece in my avatar gives you an idea.
