Kind of nice looking and that neck looks like a Louisville Slugger. Too bad that it is so out of whack. It would be easier for me to stand in against Koufax than to play that.

Stan Musial played the mandolin. Do you think that could be it?
This fall's into th catagory of " what were they thinking? "

There are two things to aim at in life: first, to get what you want; and, after that, to enjoy it. Only the wisest of mankind achieve the second. Logan Pearsall Smith, 1865 - 1946

One of the reasons certain instruments are "rare," is that a few get built, nobody likes 'em, nobody buys 'em, they stop making 'em. Case in point.

Actually, according to Joseph Stanton's Stan Musial: A Biography (p.28) Stan played harmonica; it was the Cardinals' trainer Doc Weaver who played mandolin, while Stan played slide whistle, and beat time on the lockers in the player's clubhouse with coat hangers. Stanton says the '40's Cardinals were noted for "eccentric musical liveliness."

If it sounded good that would be a really fun instrument to own. Big IF, I suppose.
I would rather have one of these: Mandolin by Michael Iucci

That is pretty cool too.
If you took that one and the Iucci you could make a dandy pair of snow shoes...
