Alan Munde sucessful open heart surgery

My pickin buddy Alan Munde underwent quintutple bypass surgery today. It went well, prayers for a quick recovery (cause we're spoosed ta pick Sat)

Best wishes to your friend for a speedy recovery, Tom. Everyone reacts slightly differently to bypass. If he's in reasonably good mechanical order, other than the heart, and has a strong constitution, it shouldn't be only a few weeks before he's really feeling better. Best thing he can do is get after it and give it hell! He may not have hours of stamina right now but eventually he'll be Rocky part deux! We're only here for a short time, so be sure to love on him lots right now.

Godspeed Alan ! Here's hoping and praying for a rapid recovery . Just last night I was looking at some songs I videod of Tom , Alan , Billy Bright , and Chojo Jaques at Artz Ribhouse last year just before Christmas , what a group ! Keep us posted.

Here's wishing Alan a speedy & full recovery. I've had the pleasure of meeting him over here a few times, & once at the IBMA festival in Owensboro in '92 & he's one of the most open & friendly guys in Bluegrass you could ever wish to meet. It was seeing Alan's Stelling Banjo ( Stelling #7 i think),over here at the Cambridge Folk Festival years back,that decided me on buying a Stelling if i ever got good enough - i even got the Mark Leaf case to go with it in '92 !!. All i need now is a similar talent !!,

Here's hoping for a speedy and full banjo-pickin' recovery. Your playing has always thrilled, from that early Traitor In Our Midst record (loved the cartoon pages in the LP, not to mention the playing. Aggravation is such a great little number, as is Anna, Keep On Pushin', et. al.) to all the work with the Gazzette and with Joe. I remember you boys appeared at the Delaware BG festival (in South Jersey) one year. I gave a pick to Joe...wonder if he still has that bad boy...
