    Default Clip-on Light

After looking unsuccessfully through the archives for clip-on music light recommendations I'll pose this question. What do you folks use when you need some light on your music stand? I play in a low light area at home as I go about teaching myself notation. I can use all the help I can get and that includes plenty of light.

    Thanks

I have a Mighty Bright that works great. LED light, 3 AAA batteries, flexible neck, ten bucks. Like this.

I have this one; saved me when my main light was broken. I use it on my music stand and it works great.

Any problems with on-off switch on the Mighty Bright after an extended time(say several months)? I just threw one away; the switch just fell apart. And I just read a review on Amazon where a person reported the same problem. I like the look of the Lotus but they seem rather expensive.

I haven't had that problem. I haven't used mine for several months, and I just checked--the switch is fine.

The switch problem occurred when my wife lent me her light. She hadn't used it for a few years. I put new batteries in and it seemed to work fine the first go round. Later that same evening I tried turning it on again and the switch fell apart. It also seems that Mighty Light is the big fish in the pond. I don't see many alternatives in a lower price range.

Orchestras use them, they get the rugged ones, run off an extension cord.
Manhasset is the go to Music stand company. I have aqll sorts of stuff piled on mine,
added 'standouts' that slide on the ends to lay out 3 or4 pages..

Though this one looks interesting, a row of LEDs , and runs off a wallwart/cord, or battery.

You could get one or two of these and clip them on the bottom ledge of the stand. $1.00 each at Dollar Tree. I clip one to my cap when I walk the dogs at night. For $1 or $2 if they did not work for the music stand you would still have a handy light and I bet they would work fine. They have a ball and socket joint so they pivot all around.
