Jimmy Moon in Glasgow may also be able to help:

While I trained also in instrument repair, unfortunately I am currently in rented accomodation and without a workshop so wouldn't be equipped for a refret job

I have no direct experience with him, but several people I know have recommended Marshall Dow in Aberdeen.
Jimmy Moon (Glasgow) and Mike Vanden (Strontian) have also been recommended to me.

Many thanks to all for your replies. Much appreciated.
