It would be nice to see a deeper $cut$ on some of this. Nonetheless, interesting selections to discontinue

I'm curious why the "Golden Age" tuners are closeouts. Are they planning to discontinue them?

It appears that it is just certain trim combinations, not all of them.
Even more interesting...the Elite tuners that came on my Old Wave C# have become more cantankerous over time and Bill graciously agreed to replace them with a set of the reputedly better Golden Age model. He ordered them from Stewmac and when they arrived he immediately shipped them to me so I could do the swap. Imagine my surprise when I opened the sealed box from Stewmac, with the parts number of the Golden Age tuners on the box, and found another set of Elites. And, they were cranky-tight right out of the box. When I have the time I'll spin them for a couple of thousand revolutions and see if they ease up any. Bill sent them to me in good faith, but it seems silly to replace one set of stiff tuners with something the same. Perhaps Stewmac is confused about what exactly it is that they are "closing out."

looks like they're taking 20% off for the "closeout"
