Examples of his work currently on ebay

My guess is that it was made by Antonio Tsai (if that is his real name), a builder from Vietnam who likes to use a lot of inlay. I have no idea of value. What kind of wood is it? What does the back look like? Post a picture of the crack. That'll help. I'm GUESSING the value is south of $400.

This mandolin is likely made in either Vietnam or Taiwan. There are several similar instruments on Ebay currently and they are priced in the $200 to $300 range.

That is new. Used with a crack like that it is not worth much. To have a good repairman repair the crack would cost pretty close to what you could sell it for AFTER the repair would be my guess.

Thanks Guys, I assumed as much myself, and after looking at the other mandos on Ebay by Antonio Tsai it think you may be correct. Another problem I see with it is the frets do not seem wide enough and when the G or E strings are fretted the outers strings do nmot hit the frets. May make a nice decoration in my music room. Thanks again, Dave
