    Is it possible to disassemble reversed tuners and put them to normal? They're the non-equal length shafts as on F5's. It's a Pomeroy; I think they're Schallers. Are all Schallers reversed?
    If I just owned just one mando I'd force myself to get used to it. It's annoying.

    I have four mandos ... including a Pomeroy. I'm used to it, and it doesn't bother me in the least.
    I don't know about changing the tuners, but I would venture to guess that Don Paine would swap them out or change them if you asked him to (or even give you advise on how to do it or tell someone else how).

    Well, I've only owned it for a month or so. Maybe in time I can become mandidexterous. I bought it used. Amazingly nice playing and sounding mandolin, by the way.

    Hey Wye Knot,

    Glad you're enjoying that Pomeroy! It's a unique one, for sure. As you are, I was fairly annoyed with that reverse tuner set up, particularly since my other mandos are all normal tuners.

    Taste is such a fickle thing. I removed the monel strings you had on there and I like the J74's so much more on that Pomeroy #26. Don's up into the fifties now, they must be fantastic!

    no they are not all like that but the ones that were on all the collectables were, and so that was what got reproduced.

    The worm gear (with the button) is cut the other way, and round gear teeth angled to match., [\\\schaller F];

    Funny thing about backwards ones (Schaller F,etc.) in comparison to others: 'Righty Tighty; Leftie Loosie' as on #most all screws #is considered backwards if it's on instrument tuner pegs.. switching sides and rearrainging shafts so the string tension pulls the gears together rather than loosening contact, does makes sense.
