string spacing in relation to a radiused fretboard
This is something that has been puzzling me:
I understand that using a radiused fretboard effectively puts a little more space between the strings on an instrument. If that's the case does using this setup also allow a little room to make the spacing between the strings in a course more narrow since the radius causes them to be further apart to begin with? Is it just a matter of how you lay out the measurements?

Re: string spacing in relation to a radiused fretboard
This is easy to over-think.
As we know, the shortest distance between two points is a straight line, and so the shortest distance between two strings is a straight line (or actually a "flat" plane, ideally, but we'll just say a "straight" line for simplicity, even though it's redundant (a line is straight by definition, as a plane is flat by definition)).
It doesn't matter what shape the fingerboard is, in space, the strings are a given distance apart defined by a straight line. The pairs are usually about 1/16" or so apart in the nut slots, and even with a 7" fingerboard radius or less at the nut, an arc of the radius 1/16" long just isn't much different in distance from the straight line that actually separates the stings.
In other words, we can simply ignore the fingerboard radius and space the pairs the same as we normally would.
Actually, I normally space strings according to the desired distance from the edge of the fingerboard (unless doing a custom spacing for someone), so my procedure is the same for a flat or radiused 'board, and if the string to string spacing is any different it's "just because".

I'm in agreement too. An important aspect to setting out your string spacing is how the fret ends are dressed. Some are filed back at such an angle as to cause the outside strings to fall off the edge too easily if the spacing is laid out using only the measurement of the nut. This can be critical on a narrow neck.

so the differences would be small enough to ignore, interesting. Thanks for all the input!
