I recently upgraded to XP and ever since I did it I can't see the images on the Cafe classifieds. All the other images seem to come through fine. When I right click on where the image should be, it identifies that an image is there but I can't get it to show. Anyone have this problem? or know how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

I've had the same problem with the Classifieds. For a while, I could refresh the page and get the image to show. Now, nothing works. I don't have the problem anywhere else except the classifieds here. It must be something in how they work that's not compatible w/XP.

It's nothing like that.. I'm running XP and see them fine. IF you installed service pack 2 that might have dropped in a firewall. We'll check into what might be causing it

I also can't see any images in the classified since I got a new computer. I can see images posted on the message boards just fine. On some other sites I've noticed I can't see images where I used to be able to with my old computer (for example, Folk of the Wood, when you click the New Inventory link, I used to see picture of the various categories like mandolin, guitar, and such, but there not there anymore).

I run XP, and have installed Service Pack 2, but I couldn't see the images before that installation. I also had a firewall prior to installation of Service Pack 2.

For whats it worth I don't have Service Pack 2 installed, or rather I had to do a system restore to get rid of it because with it running I couldn't get on line at all. Still working on that problem.

We'll take a look. Does anyone have the google tool bar or other "Ad blockers" installed? The image path contains "classifieds" which some pop-up/ad blocker interpret as spam or advertisements.

I have XP, and SP2 installed, and I have the firewall enabled. With both IE and Mozilla Firefox I see the images just fine (Mozilla adblocking and Google tool bar on IE blocking popups enabled). XP Pro here FYI Dan.

It's the ad blocker. I'm running Zone Alarm firewall and just reset the ad blocker from high to medium and now I see the light, I mean pictures. Thanks Dan, and everyone else.

Ah-ha!! I have McAfee Internet Security software. It was set to block ads. I set it to allow ads, and now I see pictures in the Classifieds.

Dan, is it possible to attach ad photos the way we do in the forums? If so, we'd be able to keep blocking ads, etc. If not, we'll deal. Thanks for your help.

I had that, too, and still got a virus. After completely clearing the hard drive and re-installing the operating system, I went to Norton. No more problems. I can easily see the pictures on the classifieds. In, fact, I sometimes wish I couldn't. Too much MAS fuel.

Get rid of Macafee and go to Norton. I lost everything when I first got my Dell because of it. I later learned that some of Macafee's programs are not compatible with XP. They didn't tell me bfore I bought it...

Thanks for the info guys. I ran McAfee a long time ago, and then Norton for a few years until the '03 version gave me all kinds of problems. When I bought this computer a few months ago, the research info suggested that McAfee was the best at that time. Technology changes quickly though.

FWIW, the new XP firewall that comes with SP2 is pretty nice. I ran the port scanner at Shields Up! and tested completely stealth.
